The guys at BRAMMO ar not only laughting at the oil dependent car industry by building ultra sustainable electric powerbikes, they are also making fun of the current car crisis in a clever piece of PR:

“Our plan is to retrace the route of the automotive CEOs who went to Washington DC asking for government loans. But instead of looking for aid, we’d like to present President Obama with a homegrown solution to the transportation crisis. And instead of flying in a corporate jet, we’re riding Brammo Enertia powercycles. We’re just a couple of guys who work for Brammo, but we want to show that there’s a better way to get from Point A to Point B. And we want to have a little fun while we’re doing it. So join us as we surf from plug to plug in a quest to meet Obama, fueled by nothing more than electricity and the kindness of everyday Americans.”

Follow their route in real time on www.shockingbarack.com

“By integrating the basket into the handlebars, the bike porter offers a transport option which works as part of your bike, not an awkward addition like a regular basket. It also offers an evolution in style. Most baskets are twee, woven creations or cheap looking wire or plastic constructions. Old-school basketweave is fine if that’s your thing, but what real choice is there if you care about how your bike looks, and your style is more Manhattan than country cottage? What if you ride a stylish single-speed but you also want to carry bags and groceries? By making the basket part of the bike, we’ve made life a fair bit harder for the would-be basket thief.”

Unfortunately its just a concept up to now, but the bike porter designed by Goodmorning Technology is really sweet. Combining the handelbar with a basket, they created a device witch is to take the bikebasket out of the mud of uncoolness.
