Wer dachte er sei schon gruen weil er Fahrrad faehrt wird hier eines besseren belehrt, denn das Fahrrad selbst kann auch noch gruener werden; und es wird.

Gates Carbon Drive

Gates Carbon Drive hat der Fahrradkette den Kampf angesagt. Aus der Motorradindustrie kommend hat Gates den Zahnriemen fuer Fahrraeder adaptiert um die laengst ueberfaellige Fahrradkette abzuloesen; Schmierfett an den Hosen, nervende Kettengeraeusche und gerissene Ketten gehoeren damit der Vergangenheit an. Einziger Haken: Da sich der Riemen nicht wie eine Kette oeffnen laesst, muss die rechte Radaufhaengung geoeffnet werden, was nur bei wenigen Rahmen vorgesehen ist.

Es bleibt zu hoffen, dass die Hersteller die Zeichen der Zeit erkennen und wir schon bald in den Genuss des Carbon Drives kommen.
